We strongly recommend external candidates to furnish their own handpieces, swivels, equipment and instruments. Certain equipment (e.g., amalgamator, curing light, anesthetic syringe) is available from the dispensing desk on the second or third floor. However external candidates are encouraged to bring their own equipment. Due to a limited supply, Cavitrons might not be available to external candidates.
All equipment, materials and supplies that you receive from the dispensing desk must be returned by 5:15 p.m. the day of the examination.
A supply of consumable products is stocked in each cubicle. A list of consumable products available in each cubicle and from the dispensing desk will be distributed to you and reviewed during the facility tour.
All dental chairs are equipped with an A-dec air/water syringe, a saliva ejector and HVE.
Disposable air water syringe tips are stocked into the cubicle.
The dental unit contains one fiber-optic line for high-speed, and one single line non-fiber optic for low-speed.
All rotary instrumentation should be compatible with the A-dec 4-hole couplings.
Instructions on how to use the dental chair will be discussed during the facility tour.
Each cubicle is equipped with an operator stool. A supply of assistant stools will be available in each clinic for the exam. Do not remove operator stools from other cubicles to use as an assistant stool.
The headrest mount should be stored on the cubicle countertop and not placed on the floor during the manikin portion of the examination.
Be sure to secure your personal belongings prior to, during and after the examination. Do not leave purses, handpieces or other valuables unattended in your cubicle.
NERB Candidates are expected to responsibly use the instruments and equipment they receive. If any University property is lost or damaged, there will be a deduction of the cost of the item(s) from your security deposit. If the amount you owe exceeds the amount of the security deposit, you will be responsible for paying the difference.
