This program is funded jointly by the School of Dentistry and by a grant from the United States Public Health Service, National Institutes of Health. The program currently provides a stipend during the research period and modest funds for research supplies. During the formal research period participants are expected to devote "full-time" effort to their research project.

Schedules and Deadlines

oThe application Process begins in early Fall each year.
oNew applicants must submit signed mentor forms and reapplying students must notify Office of Research by early November
oAll applications for the program must be submitted by early January
oNotification of awards will be made by the end of March
oPre-research period begins following award notification
oResearch period is conducted primarily during student summer break. Stipends are distributed during June, July and August months
oPost research period includes participation in Research/Table Clinic Day in early February and submission of a final report due in early March.
