Dr. Quelhas, a native of Brazil, received her dental education from the University Santo Amaro in Sao Paulo, Brazil, in 1984. She held private office practice from 1984 through 1994, specializing in the pediatric area. Dr. Isabel participated in the Post-Graduate program at the University of Michigan when she arrived in Ann Arbor in 1994.

Over her ten years of private practice, Dr. Quelhas developed particular interest in preventive treatments and procedures, which she continues to study participating on a long term clinical research project with Dr. Robert Feigal on sealants. Currently, she is on our faculty as a Research Assistant at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry in the Pediatric and Orthodontic Departments.
