Dr. Da Fonseca completed his dental degree at Universidade Federalde Juiz de Fora, Brazil, in 1988. He received a Master of Science degree and a Pediatric Dentistry certificate at the University of Minnesota in 1991 and followed with a fellowship at the Denver Children's Hospital. He completed a fellowship in Oral Medicine at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle in 1995. He taught at the University of California, San Francisco, before joining our faculty in the Fall of 1997. He is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor and head of the section of Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Michigan Medical Center.
