Clinical Orthodontics and Information Technology: The Nuts and Bolts of Bytes and Bits
Presented by the Office of Continuing Dental Education, 734-763-5070.
Purpose
The Moyers Symposium has had a long tradition of dealing with current topic in orthodontic and craniofacial biology, and this year's meeting is no exception. Computer technology is having an increased impact on the practice of orthodontics, with digital imaging and radiography, three-dimensional virtual models, and various CAD-CAM technologies affecting everyday practice.
This meeting brings together researchers and clinicians not only from the field of orthodontics, but also from those technology companies that provide services to the specialty. Do these innovations truly improve the quality of patient care, or is it simply "technology for technology's sake?" These and other questions will be addressed during the Symposium.
The 29th Annual Moyers Symposium will be held on The University of Michigan campus on Saturday, February 23, and Sunday, February 24, 2002. As in previous years, the symposium honors Dr. Robert E. Moyers, Professor Emeritus of Dentistry and Fellow Emeritus and Founding Director of the Center for Human Growth and Development. The meeting is co-sponsored by the School of Dentistry and the Center for Human Growth and Development.
