The University of Michigan invites both nominations and applications for the position of Dean of the School of Dentistry. The candidate should be committed to scholarship and have the desire, ability, and vision to further the School of Dentistry’s mission in teaching, research, patient care, service, community collaboration and major fundraising. Candidates will also need to possess administrative and managerial skills to lead a school of dentistry in one of the nation’s premier research universities.

Nominees and applicants must hold a D.D.S./D.M.D. and/or an advanced degree in health related science and demonstrate scholarly distinction appropriate for a tenured appointment in the School. As the chief academic, administrative and financial officer of the Dental School, the Dean reports directly to the Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs.
