Welcome to the Office of Multiculticultural Affairs Website. Our office works along with the office of student affairs to provide support in recruitment, counseling, mentoring activities, summer program development and implementation. I received my dental and specialty training here at the University Michigan in 1994 and 1999 respectively. It is an honor to play a role in the educational process of so many young people who are pursuing their dream of becoming a dentist. The Michigan tradition is steeped in providing opportunities to all deserving students irregardless of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation or religion. The Office of Multicultural Affairs recruits students from high school through graduate school to enter into dentistry. We offer summer programs for disadvantaged high school students, college students and a pre-matriculation program for entering dental students. Because of these efforts I am proud to say that the University of Michigan has produced more minority dentists than any other state institution. Pattie Katcher
Program Coordinator

Pattie Katcher has been actively involved with the Office of Multicultural Affairs since 1994. She is the Program Coordinator for our current Health Careers Opportunity Program (HCOP) grant from the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services and has worked with HCOP grants since 1994. As the front-line staffperson for this office, she is involved with recruitment, summer programs and academic support services for our multicultural students. Pattie's background is in behavioral psychology and counseling.
