As you explore our Web page further, you'll discover that the U-M School of Dentistry has a great deal to offer. Since its founding in May 1, 1875, the School has earned an international reputation for the quality of its teaching and research as well as the expertise of its faculty. Our mission is to promote optimal oral health within the state, nation, and the world by maintaining the highest standards in education, research, and service.

Our success in all three arenas is apparent. In 1995, for example, we were the only institution whose name appeared among the top five U.S. dental schools in polls conducted by U.S. News and World Report and the Gorman Report.

The Web page you see here is in the first phase of what will be a dynamic process. The initial format focuses almost exclusively on our educational offerings: the predoctoral degree program, the continuing dental education program, and the postgraduate program. In the near future, we will be adding sections relating to our various academic departments and specialty programs.
