Many opportunities for outside scholarships exist for medical students. It is very worthwhile to explore all options as the more scholarship dollars a students receives, the less loan will need to be borrowed.

To enhance your chances of getting a scholarship, we offer the following suggestions:

• Read the application carefully.
• Follow the agency's instructions.
• Adhere to deadlines. There are usually two deadlines dates. The first is the cut off for the application with necessary supplementary materials (i.e. transcipts, recommendation letters, etc.)
• Secure transcripts from your medical school and/or previously attended undergraduate institutions.
• Research all possibilities. Do not limit yourself;
