The statistics are prepared and sent out by the MCIT webmaster. They are generated by wwwstat-1.0. Statistics include Daily Transmissions, Hourly Transmissions, Total Transfers by Client Domain, Total Transfers by Reversed Subdomain, Total Transfers from each Archived Section, and Previous Full Summary Period.

The following information is provided:

• %Reqs - the percentage the page is requested compared to all other pages available
• %Byte - the percentage of information transferred compared to all other pages
• Bytes Sent - amount of information (in Bytes) sent for that page
• Requests - the number of requests for the page

Hourly Transmissions:
The number of times the web site was accessed each hour of the day.

Total Transfers by Client Domain:
The number of times a domain (an entity like a country or educational domains) accessed the site.

Total Transfers by Reverse Subdomain:
The number of times the web site was requested by a network (e.g. "edu.umich.med" is a network). The network identifies schools, governments, and private online services that access the site.

To determine the location of a subdomain, simply open the location in Netscape by reversing the entire name and adding "www" to the beginning. For example, ae.net.emirates becomes "www.emirates.net.ae".

Total Transfers from each Archive Section:
The number of times each individual web site page is accessed. The Home Page for the Medical School is "/medschool/". The first files "/i/medschool/..." are pages that are internal to the Medical Center only and are not available outside the MCIT network. The pages that begin "/medschool/" are available to everyone accessing the web site.

Previous Full Summary Period:
The total access stats for the previous month, including all pages on the "www.med.umich.edu" server.
