Campus Phone Numbers
There are several resources available for obtaining phone numbers and addresses of members of the University community.

The University Directory contains phone numbers of faculty and staff, as well as departmental listings, separate Medical Campus listings, campus maps, and building information.

The Medical Center also has a directory which contains phone numbers and addresses for Medical Center faculty, staff and offices.

You can search for faculty, staff, and students via the University's X.500 database, which is updated monthly and maintained by Human Resources. It has the most up-to-date information and is available on the web at:

http://directory.umich.edu

If you are unable to locate your party via any of these methods, call the University Operator at "0" from a campus phone, and 764-1817 from off-campus. Be aware that the University charges 50¢ for each local or long-distance directory assistance call.

Dialing On/Off Campus

Off-Campus Calls:
Dial "9" to get an outside line, then dial the telephone number as you normally would.

On-Campus Calls:
Internal phone numbers are 5 digits, and are simply the last five digits of the full phone number. For example, Faculty and Staff Resources' phone number is 763-0253. To reach them from a campus phone, dial: 3-0253.
