Classes are taught by Medical School faculty and cover topics that first-year medical students encounter. These classes include anatomy, genetics, bioengineering, and medical ethics; an introduction to histology, embryology and gross anatomy is also offered. Students will have access to plastinated anatomical models and will have an opportunity to produce an actual plastinated specimen.

The supplemental writing course promotes communication skills. Persuasive, formal essay writing is taught and students practice writing personal statements for college admission.

We also offer a class in Perspectives on Careers in Medicine and Health Care. This course is designed to help students acquire perspectives on potential careers and discuss the problems facing the health professions in the 21st century.

Evening events and activities vary and include motivational speakers, hospital tours, undergraduate admissions and financial aid presentations, an AIDS awareness workshop, a nutrition seminar and a performance by the Mosaic Youth Theater Group. Weekends will include outings such as trip to a Tiger baseball game, a day at Cedar Point Amusement Park or canoeing on the Huron River.
