The Fellowship Contingency Fund

The intent of the Contingency Fund is to enhance the institution's academic and research missions by eliminating the disincentives for program directors to apply for academic training grants. It is specifically designed to cover the difference in stipend rates between NIH and Foundation (e.g. the American Heart Association) sponsored fellowship positions and house officer compensation rates.

Funding will be limited to fellowships that are academic in nature focusing on the preparation of future faculty. Existing fellows, as well as new training grant fellowship positions, are eligible for funding under this mechanism.

Attached is a form to apply for the Fellowship Contingency Fund. All requests will be reviewed by the GME Review Board.
